PITYPANG stands for 'dandelion' in Hungarian   and is meant to symbolise the unity and permanence  of  the ensemble. The ensemble was established in   September 1999 by educators and parents at the   József Kármán Hungarian Primary School in the   Slovakian town of Lučenec (Losonc in Hungarian).    It has 38 members, mostly from Lučenec and   surrounding villages. Eleonóra Habodász Kertészné   is responsible for overall leadership of the ensemble,   while Erika Habodász provides artistic direction,

including choreography. Rehearsals twice a week are led by Eleonóra Kertész, Mónika Bolyós,   and Beatrix Rusnák. Four times a year children attend an intensive course where basic steps of   various dance styles are taught in groups.
